“When Women Ruled the World"

Speaker: Kara Cooney, holds an PHD in Egyptology from Johns Hopkins University. She is currently Professor of Egyptian Art and Architecture at UCLA. Her book The Woman Who Would Be King: Hatshepsut’s Rise to Power in Ancient Egypt, was released in 2014 and she was co-curator of Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 2005.

“Meet Madam Silsila: An Introduction & the Latest from the Field at Gebel el Silsila”

Speaker: Tricia Coletto, holds an MA in Archaeology and Heritage Management from the University of Exeter, which she earned in 2013.  She is currently an archaeologist with the Gebel el Silsila Project. Ms. Coletto has also spent many seasons excavating and surveying at several sites in Israel.
